An Entire Month!

I can't believe I have been in Sweden for a whole month!!  Time flies when you are having fun!
This week was probably what I would consider a typical week.  I went to lacrosse practice Monday night.  There were not so many beginners this week so we were able to do some more complex drills and even had a small sided scrimmage.
Tuesday night I made macaroni and cheese for Marie and Mickael which was a great success considering it was the first time I have made it and I had to improvise and guess how much to use of the ingredients because the measuring cups are all different here. Wednesday I  went to fika with my class and our "mentors" who happen to be our math, physics and history teachers (see the pictures below).  It was so really nice to get to know some of the kids in my class a little bit better and try and memorize their names.  We sat, talked, told jokes, and riddles and listened to stories about our teachers.  Oh and I am very proud to say that I successfully took the bus from central station (in the middle of Uppsala) all the way home all by myself! :)
Thursday I went with my Rotary contact person, Folke, to my first rotary lunch.  I just introduced myself to the crowd of about 30 Rotarian's (in Swedish of course) and then just sat back and pretended to know what they were talking about.  At the meetings they try to have one main event and at this meeting a famous Uppsala singer preformed (see picture below).  Folke explained to me that the songs she sings are actually poems that she turns into her own songs.  After school on Thursday I took the bus to downtown Uppsala where I hung out with some of the exchange students before we had our language course in the evening.  There were even more students at the course this week than last.  There was someone from Turkey, Italy, China, Hungary, Argentina, London, Australia, and South Korea.
Today I only had one class, math in the morning but I had the ultimate test today...the name test.  I have been working really hard this week on learning the names of everyone in my class so today my friends tested me.  There were only two boys that I could not name, but now I have them all!!  Hopefully they will stick through the weekend.  I came home after eating lunch with some guys in my class and packed because Marie and Mickael are taking me to see Mickael's parents!  They live in Falun which is a 2 hour drive North of Uppsala  I believe.
Fika with the class!! (sorry for the poor lighting)
