Another summer house!

After I got back from the Höga Kusten I went to another summer house with the girls in my class!  Tilda's family has a house about an hour north of Uppsala that we were all invited to.

There were 9 of us at her cabin for 4 days in beautiful sunny and hot weather!!

There summer house is made up of 3 little cabins a little bit up from a lake.  To get to the house we drove to the lake and then took a row boat to their dock!

Hannah!

Kiruna (Sofia) is the master griller! :)

While we were their Carol had her birthday so we got to celebrate her! It was the perfect way to say the goodbyes to my class girl friends...Well maybe not a goodbye, but a so long till next time!

Höga Kusten- The High Coast

So I have been way up north, way south, to the west coast, and now to the High Coast! My third host family have a house in this area of Sweden that is about 6 hours north of Uppsala.

I'm gonna miss Freja soooo much!

The Swedes say that this is where the mountains of Sweden are...
These mountains were...small mountains, if not mounds :)

Even if they aren't real mountains the area is beautiful!  Where the Lindhagen's have their house there are three lakes within walking distance.  One of which is up on the top of one of these so called mountains.
The Lindhagen's daughter who was on exchange came back to Sweden and went with us up to the house.  It was amazing to see how similar Alva (16) and Sara (exchange sister 18) were.  They even sat the same way (seen in the picture above on the ends!!!)

We did a ton of fishing on one of the lakes!

The best part about catching edible fish...

One of the days we were there we went into the town to Mannaminne, a sort of park with old Swedish buildings.  It was kind of a museum but in many different houses so parts of it were outside.

There were traditional old fashioned houses, each with a theme for what was on the inside.  There was a church, a house about accordions, one about the ice age, one house of Norway etc.

Then you could take a little hike up one of the hills to get a better look out over all the lakes and in the very distance you could see the sea.

We took a little drive to another little village near by that was 100 meters or so away from the sea.

The joys of having host sisters: When you try to take a nice picture they will most likely photo bomb!

And they will take weird random pictures with your camera!

But host sisters can also take some really good pictures!
We had some strange weather while we were there! One minute it would be sunny and hot and then it would be pouring rain the next minute!  Thus we had blue sky and black clouds at the same time (seen in the pictures above).
The Lindhagen girls: (left to right) Alva, Sara, Karin and Emma

This picture of a map gives you a good sense of how many lakes there are and how close the sea is!

One of the nicer days we were there Alva, Sara and I got to rock climb up one said of a mountain!

The Lindhagen's gave me a rock climbing certificate on the rock face for my birthday so we spent the day climbing!!

There were quite a few other people climbing the same line as us so it went very slowly, but it was very warm and a beautiful view so it was nice to take it slowly!

At the top this is what we saw!

On the way down we took the walking trail and passed by this cave that used to be an underwater cave but the water level have been sinking so now it was 3/4 up the mountain!

 We caught fish!
Oh and by the way I thought this picture was going to be just of the fish....Therefore I did not smile and look really weird.

This picture that I took out of the window was taken at 11.30 at night!!!!!
